Native American Headdress
We think you'll be as excited as we are when you see this splendid headdress. It was made about 15 years ago by a northern Cheyanne elder, and we were lucky enough to get our hands on it. It is made from beads of the sacred colors red, yellow, white and black, turkey feathers which have been hand-painted to look like eagle feathers, fluff and horse hair. As you probably know, eagle feathers are not permitted except for personal use by Native Americans, and cannot be sold in stores, but the feathers used on this headdress are so cleverly painted that it is hard to tell the difference.
